Roy’s Café is a beloved café in downtown Corsicana, Texas, originally opened in 1928. Over the decades, the space has taken on many forms—from classic diner to sports bar—but always under the name Roy’s. When the new owner took over, the vision was clear: to breathe new life into a historic local institution while honoring its legacy. With a fresh menu focused on farm-fresh food, a newly designed interior space, and a connected retail experience offering antiques and local goods, the brand needed to evolve to match the new Roy’s—thoughtful, charming, and ready for its next chapter.
We designed the brand from the ground up to reflect that vision. The result is a warm, gracious identity that feels both elevated and approachable—like your favorite neighborhood café with a little French charm. The custom script logo features relaxed, playful lettering that complements the polished serif typography, paired with an “EST. 1928” mark to celebrate Roy’s long-standing place in the community. A hand-drawn sketch of the building, created by the owner’s longtime friend, adds a deeply personal and nostalgic touch—honoring the building’s story and the people who have loved it through the years.
The color palette is anchored in a range of soft and rich blues to convey freshness, new life, and a sense of calm. Supporting patterns—like a classic marble check and a refined French stripe—connect directly to the new interior design while nodding to the owner's deep love for French style. A custom lemon pattern brings additional symbolism: lemons bloom and bear fruit at the same time, representing growth, resilience, and beauty that can emerge from challenge. That spirit runs through both Roy’s journey and the owner’s, making the visual language not just stylish, but meaningful.
From menus to merch, signage to social, the brand will invite people into something special—welcoming, generous, and full of heart. Roy’s isn’t just coming back—it’s going to be better than ever.
